Effective April 3, 2025, Spain has officially discontinued its Golden Visa program, which had been in place since 2013. The program allowed non-EU citizens to gain residency by investing a minimum of €500,000 in Spanish real estate, attracting over 14,500 investors mainly from China, Russia, the UK, and the US, and contributing significantly to the country’s economy.
